An sbRIO (Single-Board RIO) is a fast way to turn an idea into a working prototype: it combines a small computer, real-time control, and customizable hardware on one board. You connect your sensors and actuators directly to the sbRIO, use its built-in processor to run your application software, and use the FPGA to handle time-critical tasks like precise timing or signal processing. This lets you quickly build and test a functional version of your product without designing custom electronics from scratch.

As your design evolves, you modify the software and FPGA behaviour rather than redesign hardware — ideal for rapid iteration and early validation before committing to a final production design.
